SHAH ALAM - Bersatu Supreme Council member Dr Muhammad Faiz Na'aman has announced his resignation from the seat effective today.

Faiz expressed disatisfaction as he feels the party's evolving objectives were diverging from the initial goal of replacing Umno and to provide opportunities for youth and new faces, especially those with a clean background.

"The decision of the party leadership abandoning the voices of the grassroots, founders and the comments from subordinate machineries caused Bersatu to suffer a loss in the previous Melaka and Johor state elections.

"That history will repeat itself in the six state elections especially for Bersatu seats in the Selangor state election," he said in a Facebook post on Monday.

He added the candidate nomination by the party was one sided towards certain 'cartels' and new faces given membership to contest in Selangor.

He also pointed out weaknesses in the party disciplinary board, which he claimed resulted in individuals who had left and betrayed the party during the 15th general election (GE15) returning and claiming themselves as Bersatu members to be selected as PN candidates in the upcoming elections.

Faiz claimed there is ideology struggle among party leadership and party grassroots was diminishing, leading new members to join the party with older mentalities.

"That's not all, the party disciplinary board was slow in handling complaints.

Faiz were said the party was becoming less respected.

He now wamove forward and open a new chapter in his life without looking back, calling for mature politics based on rationality, facts, reality, and prioritisation in order to rebuild the nation and create a fair and intelligent society.
