KUALA LUMPUR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) has claimed that several opposition members of parliament (MPs) have been offered projects and positions in government-linked companies (GLCs) by certain parties.

PN secretary general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said that several MPs had received offers of hotel construction projects in their respective constituencies and GLC positions through phone calls, WhatsApp, and email.

This was to support the government and the Prime Minister.

"For example, there is someone who has called our MPs. Many of us have been offered hotel projects and whatnot, including Kubang Pasu and Besut.

"This is the modus operandi. Not just two of them, but many. First, they'd say they want to meet up, but when they do, it's nothing about the hotel; it's a whole different story.

"They asked to support the government and PMX (Anwar) and also if MPs joined them, they would become GLC board members, deputy ministers, and so on.

"If the media had not asked about it just now, we wouldn't talk about it because we had discussed and decided to just let that person take care of his reputation. We don't need to talk about it," he said at a PN press conference at its headquarters in Sri Hartamas today.

Former Bersatu information chief Datuk Seri Wan Saiful Wan Jan revealed on a TikTok live yesterday that there was a persisting attempt to pull out the party's parliamentarians.

Saiful revealed that all kinds of jaw-dropping rewards were offered for leaving the party, including GLC posts, hotel construction, and a chilli plant project.

Meanwhile, Hamzah said that after Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid and Labuan MP Datuk Suhaili Abdul Rahman had declared their support for Anwar, no more opposition MPs were expected to withdraw support from the PN.

"In our discussion two nights ago, no one said to withdraw support, so there is a problem with those two.

"I'd like to add that when someone has a problem with a certain agency issue, they would use this as a weapon," he added.

Meanwhile, Pas secretary general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan denied that his party was in negotiations to join the Unity Government.

"I deny that Pas is negotiating to join the Unity Government," he said.

He said this following a statement made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in an interview with Time Magazine regarding an offer made for Pas to join the Unity Government.
