KK Super Mart and RHB Islamic Bank Berhad have joined forces to launch a nationwide merchant rewards campaign aimed at supporting students across Malaysia.
The initiative, which began on Oct 1, is tied to the RHB MySiswa Debit Card-i and RHB MyTVETKPM Debit Card-i under the Kad MySiswa and Kad MyTVETKPM programmes.
The year-long campaign will allow students to earn doubled KK Coins rewards for every transaction made through the KK Reward mobile application. Representatives from 61 institutions, including universities, vocational colleges and technical secondary schools, were present at the signing ceremony.
In his address, KK Super Mart’s Founder and Executive Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr KK Chai, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration.
“KK Super Mart has always been committed to serving the community, not just as a retail business but as a partner in national development.
“Through the Kad MySiswa and Kad MyTVETKPM Programmes, we are not only providing students with a convenient banking and shopping tool, but also helping them stretch their allowances further through our KK Reward system.
“This initiative represents our pledge to continuously give back to society, particularly to the younger generation who are the future leaders of Malaysia,” he said.
The Kad MySiswa and Kad MyTVETKPM programmes were designed to promote the RHB 3-in-1 card, which functions as a student matriculation card, ATM card and debit card. It also provides exclusive merchant benefits, such as reward multipliers for purchases made at KK Super Mart outlets nationwide.
To date, KK Super Mart has allocated RM3.6 million in rewards to benefit up to 600,000 students nationwide.
RHB Islamic Bank’s Managing Director, Datuk Adissadikin Ali, emphasised the significance of the collaboration.
“RHB Islamic Bank is dedicated to promoting financial inclusion and supporting the educational journey of students and the RHB MySiswa and RHB MyTVETKPM Debit Card-i are testimonies of our commitment to innovation and community support.
“We are delighted to collaborate with KK Super Mart, a respected homegrown Malaysian brand, to provide exclusive benefits to our MySiswa and MyTVETKPM cardholders and enhance their university experience,” he said.
Chai also underlined KK Super Mart’s broader contributions to government-led initiatives.
“We are proud to be an active partner in programmes such as MyKasih and the government’s recent SARA RM100 subsidy, which has already generated RM745.7 million in spending within just one week of disbursement.
“This shows how effective such initiatives are in alleviating the people’s burden and KK Super Mart stands ready as a 24-hour retailer which has opened more than 1,029 outlets, to deliver these benefits on the ground,” he added.
KK Super Mart has also expanded its presence on campuses such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Malaya (UM), collaborating with student affairs departments to support welfare programmes including ‘balik kampung’ tickets during Hari Raya, Bakul Rahmah, Food Bank Ramadhan and student activity sponsorships.
Chai urged students to stay committed to their academic paths, reminding them that today’s learners will be tomorrow’s leaders. He encouraged them to study diligently, work hard and carry Malaysia’s future with pride.
Quoting Jack Ma, he said: “Young people are the future. If you want your country to be strong, you must make your young people strong.
“Let us uphold the spirit of inclusivity and unity under Malaysia Madani, because only by standing together can we build a strong and dignified nation,” he concluded.
Alongside the rewards campaign, KK Super Mart and RHB Group also announced a charitable initiative. Under this programme, RHB staff can purchase and donate essential goods to underprivileged students using their RM100 SARA Madani grant entitlement.
KK Super Mart will coordinate the purchase at RHB locations and ensure delivery to participating institutions.
