CIMB enters padel scene with ASCARO partnership, tournament set for 2026

The collaboration aligns with CIMB’s 'Kita Bagi Jadi' movement, which promotes community resilience and teamwork.

SHAH ALAM - CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad have entered a strategic partnership with ASCARO to launch the CIMB Padel Open in June 2026, marking the Bank’s move into Malaysia’s rapidly growing padel scene.

Although the tournament will take place in June 2026, CIMB customers can already enjoy exclusive perks at ASCARO padel courts at 1 Utama, with additional courts set to open at TREC Kuala Lumpur.

The collaboration aligns with CIMB’s 'Kita Bagi Jadi' movement, which promotes community resilience and teamwork.

CIMB cardholders will receive a 15 per cent discount on ASCARO’s Gold and Black membership subscriptions, while CIMB Preferred clients will gain complimentary court access, exclusive merchandise and invitations to selected events.

Meanwhile, Liljekvist said padel, which originated from Mexico and made popular in Spain, had seen rapid growth across Southeast Asia over the past few years and ASCARO is redefining the landscape of urban recreation and networking.

"We are creating a unique fusion of athletic engagement and premium lifestyle and this collaboration with CIMB marks a pivotal step in this journey.

"CIMB’s progressive approach towards the aspirations of their diverse clientele have enabled us to spotlight padel as a sport that aligns with contemporary lifestyles," he said.

To boost participation in the CIMB Padel Open, CIMB cardholders will receive discounts on tournament fees, while CIMB Preferred clients will enjoy complimentary slots, access to the CIMB Preferred lounge and viewing deck and exclusive event items.

The three-day event will be open to the public and is expected to attract more than 200 amateur and professional players.

CIMB Preferred clients will also continue to receive other lifestyle and wealth privileges, including access to golf events and advisory services from the Chief Investment Office.
