A concert is a true testament of a singer's prowess and last Saturday, one of Malaysia's most celebrated vocalists, Misha Omar, showed what 23 years of experience in the music industry can unfold. Through her concert simply called DiA Misha Omar, the star proved her worth and why she deserved to be on a big stage.
Performing to a full house of 5,000 people, Misha truly showed her skills as a true entertainer.
Held at the packed Mega Star Arena in Kuala Lumpur, the evening opened with a warm surge of anticipation as Misha took her place under the spotlight — a moment that immediately reaffirmed why she has long been regarded as one of the country’s most formidable vocalists. Yet what made this night special was not just her powerful delivery, but the sincerity and emotional openness she carried into every segment.
One of the night’s most memorable moments came early on, when Misha took the effort to appear among the audience at the furthest end of the hall. As she mingled with the crowd, she reminded everyone why she has always called her fans her friends, a term she has long used to honour the bond she shares with those who have supported her throughout her career. It was a simple gesture, but one that spoke volumes about the kind of artist — and person — she truly is.
Over the course of the night, Misha delivered a beautifully curated setlist that reflected every phase of her 23–year journey. She opened with Bunga-Bunga Cinta before sliding into an energetic medley of Hati Keliru and Terpana. The evening continued with fan favourites such as Ku Seru, Halaman Cinta, Sembunyi, Lilitan Asmara, Tanpa Rela, Nafas Cahaya, Angin Syurga, Terimaku Seadanya and her early-career recording of Destiny. She kept the momentum flowing through Permainan Hati, Untuk Bermimpi, Debu Cinta, Sampai Di Sini, Cinta Adam & Hawa, Masihkah Ada Rasa Itu, Pulangkan, and her latest single written by Indonesian superstar Melly Goeslaw ‘Break’.
The night grew even more heartfelt when Misha’s son Idris Ezzwa appeared on stage, surprising the audience before re-introducing his mother for the next segment. Their tender duet of Jim Brickman’s Destiny — a number Misha recorded in her early years — became one of the most cherished scenes of the evening. It was a moment that felt intimate yet grand, bridging her personal life and her artistic journey in the most genuine way.
Her communication throughout the show was effortless. Between songs, she cracked jokes, laughed with the audience and reminisced about her journey — including how she was discovered by the late Malaysian maestro, Adnan Abu Hassan. This touching anecdote led seamlessly into a tribute segment where she delivered beautiful renditions of three iconic hits he had written for other stars: Jerat Percintaan (Siti Nurhaliza), Gubahan Rindu Puisi Syahdu (Fauziah Latif) and Renungan Terakhir (Nora). Her emotional depth and vocal finesse made the medley one of the evening’s standout highlights.
Misha continued to soar through her setlist with emotional conviction, but it was the performance of Sampai Bila — the very song that earned her, her third Best Vocal award at Anugerah Juara Lagu in 2019 — that brought the hall to its feet. Delivering the demanding composition with precision, heart and unshakeable poise, she moved the crowd so deeply that they rose for a standing ovation the moment the final note dissipated. It was a triumph that underscored her artistic mastery.
Throughout the concert, it was evident how much Misha has matured as a performer. She stood on stage as a full-fledged entertainer, one who understands her craft, her audience and the emotional weight of every lyric she sings. With each number, she poured her heart and soul into her performance, offering a sincerity that is increasingly rare in today’s music landscape.
From start to finish, DiA Misha Omar reaffirmed that Misha Omar is not just a great vocalist — she is one of the best and most enduring performers Malaysia has ever produced. Her grace, vocal power, humour, and warmth blended into a tapestry of artistry that left an unforgettable impact on the audience.
The evening reached a spectacular close with her debut hit, Bunga-Bunga Cinta. The entire hall sang along, cheering her on as she openly shed tears of happiness — a fitting finale to a night filled with music, memories and genuine friendship between an artist and the people who have stood by her for more than two decades.
With DiA Misha Omar, Misha didn’t just perform a concert.
She offered a celebration of her journey — and proved once again why she remains one of Malaysia’s most beloved voices.
