SHAH ALAM - Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has made his first public move after being expelled from Bersatu, sharing a photo of himself having tea with top Pas and Bersatu leaders, as well as former party figures in Rusila, Marang, Terengganu.
In a Facebook post, Hamzah posted a picture of him sitting together with Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, as well as Bersatu vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee, former Bersatu supreme council member Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah, former Bersatu supreme council member Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, Pas assistant secretary-general Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman and Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
The group was seen enjoying an afternoon gathering.
Hamzah accompanied the post with a short caption: "Alhamdulillah. Minum petang di Rusila. Allah SWT adalah sebaik-baik perancang." (Alhamdulillah. Afternoon tea in Rusila. Allah SWT is the best of planners).
Earlier, it was reported that Hamzah was sacked as Bersatu deputy president, based on a letter issued by the party's disciplinary board.
A notice sighted by Sinar confirmed that the decision was finalised during a disciplinary board meeting held on Friday.
Following Hamzah’s sacking, three other party members were also expelled.
Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal was dismissed under Clauses 22.5 and 9.1.4 of the party’s constitution.
Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob has confirmed his dismissal, while a letter sighted by Sinar stated that Padang Rengas MP Azahari Hasan has also had his membership terminated.
According to letters issued by Bersatu Disciplinary Board chairman Datuk Radzi Manan, the three MPs breached Clause 9.1.4—the same provision cited in Hamzah’s removal.
