MUAR Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has confirmed he will be engaged to Bella Astillah this Saturday after proposing to the singer and actress atop Mount Kinabalu.
In a Facebook post, Syed Saddiq shared the special moment of the proposal, which took place on Mount Kinabalu during heavy rain, describing it as the beginning of their happy story.
"I asked, she said yes. This is not the end of the story, it is our beginning. And today is our engagement ceremony, please pray for us.
“It began with a simple collaboration that eventually raised more than RM6 million for the people and without realising it, brought two hearts together. Allah SWT is the best of planners,” he wrote.
Syed Saddiq also uploaded a 34-second video of the proposal, showing both of them looking elegant in traditional attire, with him dressed in baju Melayu and her in baju kurung.
In the video, he is seen presenting the engagement ring to Bella during their climb up the mountain.
Prior to the official confirmation, Syed Saddiq’s brother, Space Dollah, drew attention from netizens when he spontaneously said, “Welcome to the family,” in a TikTok video while receiving a gift from Bella, hinting that the couple’s relationship was becoming more serious.
The clip later went viral, sparking speculation that the engagement ceremony would take place today.
It is understood that the couple’s engagement ceremony will be held at a venue in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
