SEREMBAN - All 14 Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) Negeri Sembilan State Assemblymen today unanimously expressed losing confidence and withdrew support for the state government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

Negeri Sembilan Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias ​​said an official notification regarding the matter would be sent to the Speaker and Secretary of the State Legislative Assembly today.

"We want a stable government so that it can play the best possible role in the state administration and at the same time be able to focus on the objective of making the people and the state economy prosperous," he said during a press conference here today.

Jalaluddin, who is also the Member of Parliament for Jelebu and the Pertang assemblyman, said his party fully supports and defends the Customary Institutions and the Negeri Sembilan State Constitution (UUTKNS) 1959.

He said that the state Umno and BN had taken note of the crisis involving Customary Institutions and the Constitution in Negeri Sembilan and expressed their disappointment with the crisis that had occurred.

Jalaluddin said that as a party that greatly respects Customary Institutions and the Constitution, Umno/BN would never take a stand to interfere in related matters.

"However, we, the exco from Umno BN, were never informed in any discussions at the state government level and only learned of this crisis when the situation had reached a critical level and became a public debate," he said.

He said Aminuddin should have played his role and used his wisdom as Menteri Besar in the crisis.

Jalaluddin said the crisis was seen to affect the administration of the Negeri Sembilan government and indirectly have a profound impact on the stability of the government and the harmony of the people.

In the 15th State Election, BN Negeri Sembilan won 14 seats, Pakatan Harapan won 17 seats while Perikatan Nasional won five seats. - BERNAMA
