Gerakan Reset Malaysia, led by Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, is drawing increasing attention after successfully rallying a large crowd at its inaugural convention in Tanah Merah.

Tanah Merah MP and convention host Datuk Seri Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz said the inaugural event would mark a historic milestone, having successfully brought together supporters from diverse backgrounds under one programme.

He said the massive turnout proved that the people still wanted to see a unification effort capable of bringing stability and a better future to the country.

"Today's convention will go down in history. The presence of participants from across the nation shows that the people are receptive to the unification efforts being driven forward.

"We are not here to be enemies with anyone, nor to attack any party. Rather, we have gathered here to take steps towards the unity of the ummah and to strengthen the solidarity of the Malay Muslim community," he said in his address at the convention.

He added that the unification effort was not meant to sideline other races, but to ensure Malaysia remains harmonious through a spirit of mutual respect among its multiracial society.

"We want to ensure this country remains peaceful and harmonious. At the same time, inter-racial relations must continue to be strengthened on the basis of respect and understanding," he said.

Ikmal also described the expected appearance of Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, scheduled to officiate the convention at 4pm, as a great honour for all supporters present.

He said Hadi was a figure respected not only as a religious scholar but as a political leader who had steered Pas to numerous achievements, making it one of the most influential parties in the country.

The event also drew participants from various walks of life, including professionals, youth, entrepreneurs, community activists, the Orang Asli community and attendees from multiple states.

Among those present were several former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) leaders, including Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan, alongside Pas leadership and political figures from across the country.

Also in attendance were Perikatan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, who is also Terengganu Menteri Besar, Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia (Gerakan) president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai, and Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
