KUALA LUMPUR - The public should assess whether the formation of Parti Bersama truly offers a better future for the country or merely serves as a vehicle for individuals disillusioned with their former political organisations.
Angkatan Muda Harapan (AMH) secretary Omar Mokhtar A Manap said the question was one the party's leadership ought to answer, to prove the true direction and purpose behind its establishment.
He said Pakatan Harapan (PH) had no intention of focusing on attacks against any new party and would instead continue to strengthen the government's performance and deliver on its promised reform agenda.
"Our focus is on strengthening the government's performance, implementing the institutional reforms we have promised, finding ways to ease the cost of living for the people, and proving that political stability can translate into economic progress and public wellbeing.
"In political history, many parties have been born out of splits. Some succeed because they carry big ideas, while others fail because they are too bound by grievance and nostalgia," he said in a statement on Saturday.
Earlier, Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Selangor chief Muhammad Iman Haziq Mohammad Hamizi was reported to have urged Johor voters to ensure the Parti Kancil 'virus' does not begin spreading in the state ahead of the next state election.
He claimed the move was important to prevent the influence of the party led by Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli from expanding further across the country ahead of the next general election.
Elaborating further, Omar said the people would ultimately make their choice based on who could offer genuine hope and solutions to the nation's problems.
"The people will judge who truly brings hope, not those who remain consumed by anger and believe only they know how to get things done - as though without them, nothing would work," he said.
