MELAKA - Pakatan Harapan (PH) is greatly concerned about the unity between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) in facing the Melaka state election.
Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the cooperation could deliver a major victory for the coalition.
“Many in our community are hoping that this unity among Muslims will continue to be strengthened until we are able to create a new political landscape through this cooperation.
“With the strength we have and the combined machinery from across the country, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire PN leadership and all component parties for mobilising their machinery to ensure our victory in this state election,” he said.
He was speaking at the PN Melaka state election candidates announcement ceremony at Dewan Muallim Haji Abdul Wahid, Bukit Katil, here, last night.
Meanwhile, he urged all party machinery to set aside petty issues throughout the campaign period and not be influenced by agendas pursued by certain parties.
“We know the challenges posed by AI are immense today. Various forms of media will be used in different ways.
“The aim is to create doubts among party supporters, question decisions and candidates, dig up secrets and even look for things that do not exist to tarnish our candidates,” he said.
He added that all party members were expected to accept the candidates selected by the party, as they were the best choices for the people.
He said every candidate had undergone a screening process at the Syura Council of Ulama level.
“Pas is well known as a party whose members are loyal and obedient to the party's decisions.
“Once the party has made a decision, whether we like it or not, we must obey and comply, as long as we are not instructed to do anything sinful,” he said.
