SHAH ALAM - It is often easier for its political rivals to paint the DAP as the proverbial boogeyman rather than actually addressing critical or long-standing issues within the country, said Klang MP Charles Santiago.

“It's all DAP’s fault. It's all Umno’s game you see.

“But in politics In this country, the dominant party, which is Umno would like to see a boogeyman and the DAP is the perfect boogeyman. So we will always get whack but its fine,’’ Santiago said in jest to Sinar Daily during an interview.

However, Santiago stressed that the DAP is fighting for a better and more democratic Malaysia.

DAP had often being branded as a party that wishes to diminish the power and influence of the Bumiputera community in the country, an assertion that is often refuted by the party.

Similarly, ally turn rival Bersatu have also taken the position to blame the DAP for the failures of the Pakatan Harapan administration.

When asked about his thoughts of DAP’s former allies in Bersatu who has touted that they have save the country during the pandemic, Santiago simply dismissed such assertions and stated Malaysians are not unaware of who are the actual “traitors”
