Viral concert in Bandar Meru Raya had no permit, says Perak police

IPOH - The Perak police say a concert that went viral on social media held at Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout in Bandar Meru Raya here had no permit.

State Police Chief, Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the video was detected through TikTok social networking service had garnered public attention.

He said the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD) had received a police report on the incident. “Early investigations show the organiser did not apply for permit from the National Security Council (MKN) and the police.

“The organisers and visitors were also found to have failed to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) to keep physical distance and wear face masks.

"The police is currently trying to track down the owner of the TikTok @acik_kesepian account and the individuals involved in the case to assist with the investigation," he said in a statement.

Mior Faridalathrash said the case is being investigated under Section 22 (B) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) and Section 269 of the Penal Code.
