KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Nerus MP Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali is leaving Pas effective today.

He said his action was in line with Clause 15 (1) (a) of the Pas Constitution, namely the resignation of members at their own request.

He said he has informed his departure to Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan in a meeting at Parliament at 2.30pm this afternoon.

“I would like to thank Pas for the opportunity to be a candidate for the election and subsequently become the Kuala Nerus MP since 2013,” he said during a press conference.

The former Pas Syura Ulama Council refused to reveal the reason behind his decision, only insisting that he would be an independent from now on.

On Feb 10, Mohd Khairuddin was sacked as the party’s Syura Ulama Council.

Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang confirmed the matter, stating that his removal was due to a disciplinary issue.
