SHAH ALAM - Umno Ulama Council executive secretary Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali claimed that Pas' deviant thinking has influenced Malaysian religious students, especially those studying in Jordan and Egypt.

The former Kuala Nerus MP said the political party's mindset is that they are the sole advocates for Islam.

"When these preachers returned to Malaysia, they became religious teachers in government schools and lecturers in universities. But they maintained the same position against the true interpretation by Islamic scholars in Islamic reference books.

"These academicians are able to keep this deviant interpretation or remain silent about the deviation as it is obscured by their association with Pas as its members.

"Imagine if preachers who graduated from Jordan and become religious teachers in schools and lecturers in universities with such thoughts. What about their students and party (Pas) members who did not study Islam?" he asked in Facebook, today.

Khairuddin further added that the fanatical attitude within Pas also results in anyone who leaves the party being labeled as having "fallen out of the preaching field."

As a matter of fact, he argued that the fight of Islam belongs to everyone and is not exclusive to any organisation.

"The Islamic fight belongs to all Muslims who pronounced syahadah (profession) and carry the torch of Islam wherever they are and in whichever political organisation they are part of," he added.
