SHAH ALAM - PKR chief organising secretary Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has announced he will be contesting for the PKR vice president's post when party elections are held in May.

He said the decision was made after the party's poor performance at Melaka and Johor state polls, adding that the party election is an opportunity to come back stronger with a better team.

“Rafizi's announcement to return to the political arena and contest for the deputy president's position received a warm welcome by PKR members, including the public who want an alternative party other than BN and PN.

"I intend to contribute to this effort, and due to that I am offering to run as PKR vice president," he said.

He said that he is not doing it for power but strictly for a vision to win in the 15th General Election.

The party elections for the 2022-2025 term will take place from May 13-18.

Speculations are rife that Nurul Izzah Anwar (Permatang Pauh MP) and former Kapar MP G Manivanan will also be contesting for the post.
