Tom Parker, a member of the British-Irish boy band The Wanted has died after battling brain cancer. He was 33.

A statement was issued on The Wanted’s Instagram page which said: “Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the whole Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and premature loss of our bandmate Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime today surrounded by family and his band mates.

“Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey, and father to Aurelia and Bodhi.

“He was our brother, words can’t express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts.” In October 2020, Parker shared the news of his diagnosis with stage four glioblastoma, after he began experiencing seizures.

In a previous interview he explained how the doctors broke the news to him.

“The doctors pulled the curtain around my bed and said it’s a brain tumour. It’s stage four glioblastoma and they said it’s terminal. It was a lot to deal with by myself,” he said.

Parker last shared an update on his health condition last November, assuring fans that his tumour was well under control following his radiotherapy and chemotherapy sessions.

Meanwhile, Parker’s wife Kelsey Hardwick wrote a heartfelt tribute to her husband on Instagram, expressing how she can’t imagine life without Parker’s infectious smile and energetic presence.
