Parliament special sitting to go ahead on Monday without anti-hopping bill, says Wan Junaidi

SHAH ALAM - Putrajaya now says the April 11 Special Parliament sitting will proceed but without the tabling of anti- hopping laws.

"The anti-hopping Bill will be tabled at another special sitting," said de facto law minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and PKR leader Datuk Saifuddin Nasution in a joint statement.

Wan Junaidi added that the government and the PH coalition had reached a consensus on a number of actions related to laws restraining MPs from jumping parties.

Among the items agreed upon by both parties are to support to the amendments to Article 10 under the Federal Constitution and a preliminary draft will be distributed a steering committee on transformation and political stability before a special session was held on April 11.

He said the April 11 sitting will see the tabling of Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2022.
