Nation marks 11,994 new cases in the last 24 hours, with 36 fatalities

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia has logged in 1,994 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, a minor drop from yesterday's 12,105 cases.

In terms of Covid-19 death, the country recorded 36 new fatalities including another nine brought-in-dead cases.

This makes the total cumulative number of death to 35,228 since the pandemic began.

Klang Valley continues to have the highest daily case count, with 7,561 cases recorded yesterday.

Currently, there were 157,571 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 153,859 or 97.6 per cent were currently home quarantined.

However, only 341 persons are being treated at low risked quarantine centres while another 3,174 cases were hospitalised.

A total of 89 cases were being treated in intensive care units to date, with 108 of them requiring ventilator support.

As of yesterday, there were 16,603 recovery cases across the country. The overall number of Covid-19 cases has reached 4,256,476.
