SHAH ALAM - Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar says Pakatan Harapan coalition would need at least 10 years or two rounds of general elections to regain Putrajaya again.

The former PKR vice-president also predicted PH may lose several parliamentary and state assembly seats.

Due to that, Nurul Izzah said PH needs to be more realistic than they were in GE14.

"I don't think it's going to be easy for PH to win the next general election. We have to be ready to lose two rounds (of GE), and use this time to create a positive impact among the people.

"I'm being realistic because it will take time to change as people including me are still traumatised by what happened while PH was in government for 22 months," she said in an interview exclusive interview with Sinar Premium at her office in Kuala Lumpur.

Commenting further, she said there are no shortcuts for a political party to succeed unless the people are re-assured that PH can do better if given an opportunity to do so.

However, Nurul Izzah said 22 months was too short for PH as compared to Barisan Nasional's six-decade of administration and BN would most probably score an F if compared to PH's 22 months in Putrajaya.

Citing affordable homes for B40 income group, she said, BN has yet to fulfill their targets and "now I am waiting at how they would implement minimum wages of RM1,500" as they are yet to finalised exemptions for small and medium companies.

The new minimum wages will be implemented on May 1.

Therefore, she said PH leaders should tell the rakyat that they will stand by the rakyat "in good and bad times".

"Maybe Umno and BN are confident that they can win but they have to remember of fence sitters," she said.

Furthermore, Melaka and Johor elections were held before the nation moved into endermic phase and more voters are expected to cast their votes during GE, she said.

She also hopes to defend her Permatang Pauh seat in GE15. However, she said she would respect the final decision made by the party leadership.

She hopes to boost the "Ayuh Malaysia" campaign to woo the hearts of voters.
