SHAH ALAM - Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) has chosen the Al-Sajdah verse as their mission for this year’s annual World #QuranHour that will be recited live on April 26 at the TV AlHijrah studio.

WUIF chief executive officer Marhaini Yusoff said that Al-Sajdah was chosen in order to follow the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

She said it was also to humble fellow Muslims during a time where the country was at its most divided.

“We want to give birth to an ummah (people) who can follow what the Prophet did, which was to read the verses of Al-Mulk and Al-Sajdah before going to bed.

“The theme of the verse is to invite all to prostrate to the power of Allah SWT,” she told Sinar Daily.

World #QuranHour this year will be held in collaboration with the Islamic Development Department Malaysia (Jakim), the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi), TV Alhijrah, Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), as well as both national and international governmental and non-governmental bodies.

Marhaini said it has been almost two years since Malaysia was plagued with health issues, financial instability and faced natural disasters such as floods.

“Al-Sajdah should be studied so that it becomes a guideline as well as a solution for all the economic problems the ummah is facing.
