KUALA LUMPUR - Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman's removal as the Umno Supreme Council (MKT) member will allow him to focus on his duties as Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan has said.

Ahmad said he personally believes the decision made by the party's president, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was beneficial for Tajuddin who could now devote his time as an ambassador.

He added the Pasir Salak MP would have a tough time trying to balance his role as an ambassador as Umno prepares for the next general election (GE15).

"Due to that how would Tajuddin focus his time as an ambassador and supreme council member? Of course, it would make his job difficult," he said when met after the opening ceremony of 'Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth Job Fair 2022' which was officiated by Zahid at the World Trade Center ( WTC), here, today.

This comes after Zahid said Tajuddin was dropped from the Supreme Council because of his critical attitude towards the party.

Zahid said while supreme council members were allowed to have differing opinions, all decisions finalised by the party’s leadership must be complied with.

Ahmad added that the decision to drop Tajuddin was fair as he would be able to focus on his duties as an envoy.
