SHAH ALAM - Ketereh Umno division chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa has hinted that several more will be dismissed from Umno Supreme Council after Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was dropped from the council on Thursday.

“... people are being dismissed and it is understood that there are some more names that have been labeled as political enemies, they will be fired. The political wheel keeps spinning,” he said in a post on his Facebook.

Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Friday had said Tajuddin's termination was because the supreme council member fail to toe the party line and had criticised the party through statements, speeches and during closed-door meetings he attended.

Commenting further, Annuar said, the action of dismissing members before the end of their term could lead to a crisis within Umno.

Annuar, the previous the Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general was replaced in January by Ahmad Maslan said the move also contradicted with the spirit and resolution of the Umno General Assembly held recently.

“Although there is a provision for the President to dismiss supreme council members, the action does not bring any good.

"Under Tun M (Dr Mahathir Mohamad), there are ministers, deputy ministers and supreme council members who openly opposed him, but no one was dropped for not supporting the (party) president," he said.
