SHAH ALAM - PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli said that despite being loud in voicing his views, he will not betray the party like former PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.

He also said he was not interested in taking any position in the government despite being persuaded by the party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“I have proved that I am not interested in the position as a minister or any government position.

“I want to say this to the president, witnessed by other members here, that although I am loud, I am not Azmin Ali,” he said during PKR 16th Annual Congress at IDCC Shah Alam today, which Anwar applauded.

His comment was believed to have referred to Azmin’s action, who had left PKR in 2020 and took 10 other MPs with him in an event dubbed the ‘Sheraton Move’ which later saw the collapse of the former Pakatan Harapan government after merely 22 months.

Rafizi further said that he was not the type to sugarcoat things but he was also not someone who would betray the trust of the party.

He added that he hoped he would be judged based on his works as well as consistency and mentioned that reminders are important for the party.

“I will continue to speak as I do now because I really don’t know how to speak with a filter.

“Besides, I think reminders are very important especially for those with the position that needs them to fulfil their responsibility.

“This is why we must always remind each other.

“If we don’t remind each other, then the last reminder a political party can expect is when they were destroyed by the people during the general election,” he said.
