SHAH ALAM - The former news reporter Zalina Shaharah Azman or well known as Zalina Azman's phone was last active on 20 Nov last year, four days before her son tried to make a call to her.

According to Bernama, Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said through reviews and investigations made, officers believe that there might be a possibility that Zalina had disappeared prior to the date of the report.

"If her son did not attempt to contact her, we wouldn't know that she was missing. There might be a possibility that Zalina had disappeared sooner however, it is not much earlier since we reviewed on Nov 20 her phone had been switched off (no records of inbound and outbound calls).

"Whether it was due to the phone running out of batteries is unclear," he said while visiting the 58-year-old woman's house with the Bernama Chairman Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi.

Mohd Iqbal said the condition of Zalina's home is seen as disorganised due to the home being in a process of renovation towards becoming a gallery.

Meanwhile, he said in a statement that officers are tracking the workers that had done the renovation works to aid in the missing persons case of the celebrity.

"We are investigating the situation, now tracking the workers involved in the renovation works of the house (Zalina's home) that could aid in the investigation," he said.

He said, so far, as much as six individuals have been called and recorded for their statements since the police report regarding her was made.

Previously, Mohd Iqbal reported saying Zalina was believed to still be in the country following that there were no movements involving the woman that was tracked by authorities so far.
