Speculation immediately went into overdrive but in the latest update, the billionaire said he isn't buying over any sports team.
“No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams," he replied in response to Tesla Owners Silicon Valley 's Twitter account when asked if he was serious about buying the football club.
“Although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid," continued Musk in a Twitter thread.
The 51-year-old CEO of Tesla and SpaceX frequently makes posts on Twitter which has sparked many controversies but also sparked a few laughs.
