Gill, the chief of staff for Imran's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, was arrested by the Islamabad police on August 9 following his controversial remarks on television about the army.
Imran and other top PTI leaders have said Gill was stripped naked and subjected to torture after his arrest.
An Islamabad lower court judge on Wednesday approved another two-day physical remand of Gill for police interrogation.
Later in the day his health deteriorated and he was taken from jail to hospital.
A video shared on social media shows Gill being carried on a stretcher while wearing an oxygen mask.
Imran said Gill "is in a fragile state of mental and physical health because of the torture inflicted on him" when he was taken into custody earlier. - BERNAMA
