Honor unveils the Honor 70 and a new line-up of gadgets

Honor Malaysia has unveiled its latest range of electronic gadgets, with its flagship mid-range 5G smartphone, the Honor 70 - reasonably priced at RM1,999 - being the belle of the ball at the launch event, yesterday.

With an emphasis in delivering quality low-light photography, the device sports a 54 mega pixel (MP) main with f/1.9 lens and a 50MP ultra-wide angle camera with an f/2.2 lens that can be used at a distance as near as 2.5cm.

The main camera is also armed with Sony IMX800 1/1.49-inch sensor which was touted as being capable of capturing more light in backlit and night scenarios.

On the front end, Honor 70 features a 34MP selfie camera with a f/2.4 lens.

The smartphone is also equipped with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor to ensure smooth gaming experience and bolster its multi-video recording feature.

Taking its video recording a notch further from its predecessor, the Honor 70 comes with an innovative vlog feature in which both panorama and solo views videos can be recorded simultaneously.

The dual-curved 6.67-inch OLED screen device, which is capable of displaying 1.07 billion colours with native Full HD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, is packed with 4800 mAh battery and weigh at just 178 gram.

Also revealed at the launch were the Honor MagicBook 14, MagicBook X14 and MagicBook X15.

The MagicBook 14, which comes with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage, has two variants: the RM4,299 (Intel Iris Xe graphics) and the RM5,099 (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050) models.

On the other hand, the MagicBook X14 and X15, which are the lesser variants, feature either an 11th Gen Intel Core i3 or i5 processors.

The price tags for said variants are as follows: MagicBook X14 (Intel i3, 8GB + 512GB) - RM2,599; MagicBook X 15 (Intel i5, 8GB + 512GB) - RM2,899; MagicBook X 15 (Intel i3, 8GB + 256GB) - RM2,399.

The Honor Pad 8 also made its debut in Malaysia yesterday in which the tablet, supporting a 2K resolution, was priced at RM1,399 and will be sold starting Aug 27.

Dyed in a hue dubbed Blue Hour, the tablet packs a Snapdragon 680 chipset, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

It also has 2GB expandable memory and is equipped with a 7250mAH battery with a “super charging” technology.
