SHAH ALAM – A man sustained minor injuries while his daughter was severely injured after an accident involving their Toyota Hilux and a garbage truck at the Damansara-Puchong Expressway earlier today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Director Norazam Khamis said they received the distress call at 6.43am and ten firefighters were dispatched from the Cyberjaya Fire and Rescue Department to the Serdang Hospital highway exit.

It was believed that the Toyota Hilux driven by the 49-year-old man had rammed into the back of a garbage truck in the incident.

“The daughter, aged 23, was pinned in the passenger seat and was successfully extracted by the fire department.

“She suffered a serious injury with a broken right leg while her father suffered a minor injury.

“Both victims were taken to Serdang Hospital using the ambulance,” he added.

In a separate incident, a man sustained a broken leg when his Perodua Kancil rammed into a palm oil tree at North Batu Arang junction leading to Rawang at 6.16am.

Norazam said the impact of the crash had thrown the victim out of his vehicle and pinned under the palm oil tree,

“Firemen from Batu Arang Fire and Rescue Department were deployed to help the 39-year-old victim.

“He suffered a broken left leg and has been transporter to Sg Buloh hospital for further treatment,” he said.
