SHAH ALAM - Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president has claimed that a new company that secured a tender for the supply of the Malaysian Army (TDM) self-propelled howitzer (SPH) artillery system had a strong connection with people from the "inside".

In the latest revelation on his social media page, Rafizi said the company comprised young directors.

"What is so special about this company? Could be an expert making artillery, what if its artillery is used in the Ukraine war?

"The company was established less than two years ago. The directors are still young and checks revealed that the company has a connection from the "inside"," he said.

Rafizi claimed that the company had written a letter to its “cable” asking for the tender to be awarded.

"The cable had also included a note in the letter stating “I support the application, please take action”,”he said in a video posted on his Facebook.

On Tuesday Rafizi revealed that the new company had gained the supply of the TDM SPH artillery system worth RM854 million.

Rafizi said he checked with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) and found that the company was established less than two years before the government awarded the contract to it.
