SHAH ALAM – Just four days after Budget 2023 was tabled in the Dewan Rakyat, the dissolution of Parliament today sparked anger among people and politicians, with Muda president questioning the intention behind the budget tabling.

In a statement, Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman expressed his disappointment and anger upon the Parliament dissolution which was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri earlier today.

“Despite the rakyat has spoken up so many times, Umno is still being hard-headed to hold the 15th General Election (GE15) even though the massive floods are already currently happening.

“It is clear, the reason to dissolve the Parliament was not benefitting the public, but to their own benefit, pocket and power,” he said.

Syed Saddiq added the massive budget in the nation’s history amounted to RM372.2 billion was just tabled on Friday but the real intention of the budget being presented was still a question.

“Are the efforts behind the preparation of this budget, which took months to complete, a pointless thing, and only wants to trouble the people?” he said.

Ismail Sabri had earlier announced the Parliament had officially dissolved today.

The announcement had spiked anger and disappointment from many, regardless of the political players and the public as the voting day would likely took place during the Monsoon season.
