Politically Frank: What makes a good prime minister candidate?

SHAH ALAM - There are a few criteria that define a good prime minister or minister, a veteran politician says.

Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar, the former minister said they need to have managerial skills, hardworking and they need to cares for the rakyat.

“You must put the people on top of everything because you are not important but the people are.

“Also most importantly, I think you must have integrity, honesty, wisdom and you must like to listen to people. You must like the people,” he said.

He also said they need to create a team to succeed in the political arena.

Syed Hamid hopes polical climate in the country will finally stabilise in 2023 and the country will grow.

He said that is necessary for people to live a decent life with cost of living issues managed well.

“We need to do that in order to make sure our people's standard of living is improved.

“It is also for us to have more money in our pockets to have a balance life and enjoy the modern society,” he added.
