80 leaders from NGOs say 'no' to corruption

JOHOR BAHRU: Some 80 leaders from various NGOs and civil society have voiced their support for Rasuah Buster’s campaign in promoting a corruption-free Malaysia during the Malaysia Leadership Seminar here on Oct 15.

“As a coalition partner of Rasuah Busters, Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Malaysia fully supports the noble work of the Rasuah Busters in promoting good governance and leadership with moral character for a cleaner and corrupt-free Malaysia,” said UPF Malaysia National president Assistant Professor Sudesh Balasubramaniam while presenting a token of appreciation to Rasuah Busters Johor.

Present were Rasuah Busters Johor Chief Azmi C. M. and Rasuah Busters Johor Bharu district chairman Zaidi Mustapha.

“Our difference in cultural backgrounds is not an obstacle for us to build a country free of corruption.

“We are one family; we are all Malaysians. Let us all do our part to fight against corruption for a cleaner and better Malaysia,” said Azmi.

The message was strong and clear for all those present, it was vital to reject all kinds of corruption.

The seminar, themed “Providing Vision and Leadership for Nation Building and Sustainable Peace” was jointly held by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Malaysia, Johor Consumer Welfare Association (JCWA), Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Malaysia and the Lions Club of Skudai.

During the seminar, three outstanding individuals were recognised for their altruistic service to society and were appointed as Ambassadors for Peace, an international award for leaders contributing to peace and harmony.
