PETALING JAYA – Former federal territories minister Khalid Abdul Samad slammed the confession made by Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang who admitted that he was the one masterminding the Sheraton Move.

Khalid said the statement was not at all surprising as Hadi had always in favour of seeing the downfall of Pakatan Harapan (PH).

"I'm not surprised that Hadi is one of the mastermind because it takes a sinister mind.

"Hadi is very different from the late Tok Guru Nik Aziz (Pas spiritual adviser Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat), the latter will not have agreed to Sheraton move kind of action because he respected the mandate of the voters.

"Hadi is very desperate in making sure Pas remains in power and PH doesn’t remain in power because the longer PH stay in power, the famous we will become and the more difficult it will be for Pas to handle their own members and supporters," he told the reporters after a meeting with PH Negotiation Committee at the PKR's headquarter here, today.

He added that Hadi would have a hard time managing the issues concerning the general public especially Muslims in the country.

The matters include the Shariah Court, the salvation of Tabung Haji as well as giving royalties to Terengganu and Kelantan.

This comes after Hadi admitted to leading the Sheraton Move to bring down PH as Pas was under the view of the coalition was trying to eliminate Malay special rights.
