Gang rape: Eight teens to face 18 charges

KOTA BHARU - Eight teenagers allegedly involved in a gang rape case involving a 14-year old girl on Oct 16 will be facing 18 charges.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhammad Zaki Harun said all the suspects aged between 14 and 18 will be charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code separately.

“Seven of them are still minors during the incident and will be charged at the Kota Bharu magistate’s court on Tuesday.

“The other suspect aged 18 will be charged at the Kota Bharu Sessions Court on the same day,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

It was reported that on Oct 18, eight teenage boys were remanded for seven days at the Bachok magistrate’s court in Kelantan to assist in the investigation of a gang rape case involving an underage victim.
