SEREMBAN – Up until this day, Umno still uses racial issues as an easy way to win in election.

PKR Deputy President Rafizi Ramli claimed that the party had to use the method because it failed to answer and resolve the issues of the people.

"Umno has no idea and is too lazy to face the people and ended up taking the easy way out saying that if the people vote for anything other than Umno and Pas, then this country will be taken over by non-Muslims.

"When they take over, they will sell all the national property, especially Muslim’s property.

“Am I not a Malay? If I think it is not right, I will say so," he said when giving a talk at ‘Jelajah Ayuh Malaysia Parlimen Rembau’ here on Sunday.’

Rafizi said the 15th General Election (GE15) was considered to be the most difficult election to predict because the people were getting smarter.

For this reason, he said, the people needed to be given the best explanation possible about their responsibility to choose a government and leaders who were expected to change the situation.

"Nowadays there is no more time to put ‘songkok’ (candidates), people say they can win and for PKR to contest in Rembau, it is not an easy task.

"But I know the voters after 2018 know that the power lies with them," he said.

In the meantime, he said, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun was seen as the most popular Menteri Besar among the people in this country.

He said, although at the beginning of his appearance as the number one leader of Negeri Sembilan he was belittled and compared to, but he has now managed to do his job well.

"People say he can only be a Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) instead of Menteri Besar and people also say he doesn't have the aura to fight Tok Mat (Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan).

"But after four years and about to enter five years, Aminuddin proves to be one of the most popular Menteri Besar among the people throughout Malaysia.

"This is the situation when we appoint people who are not corrupt and not arrogant.

“Although we were not convinced at the beginning, God willing he can do the job well," he said.
