KUALA LUMPUR - Two more men were charged at the magistrate's court, here, today with kidnapping a Palestinian man over the software to hack mobile phones, last month.

Mohd Zaidi Mohd Zain, 54 and Tengku Hazarul Ismail T Hamid, 49, kept silence when the charge was read to them before magistrate Wong Chai Sia.

No plea was recorded as the case was under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

According to the charge sheet, the two accused were accused of wrongfully confining Omar ZM Albelbaisy Raeda to obtain secret information on making and deactivating computer software used to hack mobile phones.

The offence was allegedly committed at Jalan Mayang, here, at 10.40pm, on Sept 28.

The charge framed under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Act 1961, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, provides for the death penalty or life imprisonment and is liable with whipping, if found guilty.

Deputy public prosecutors Fatin Hanum Abdul Hadi and Kamarul Aris Kamalludin conducted the prosecution while the two accused were unrepresented.

Wong did not allow both accused bail and set Dec 15 for mention.

The accused were Dody Junaidi, 42, Mohamad Norakmal Hassan, 41, Edy Ko'im Said, 40, Faizull Hardey Mohd Isa, 40, Tengku Arif Bongsu Tengku Hamid, 39, and Mohamad Naziree Mustapha, 39.

The others were Raibafie Amdan, 39, Nidarahayu Zainal, 34, Muhammad Iqmal Abdul Rahis, 25, Mohamad Sufian Saly, 23 and Muhammad Al Hatim Mohd Fauzi, 21.

Earlier this month, the police arrested 18 individuals around the Klang Valley over the kidnapping of a Palestinian man at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, here.
