SHAH ALAM - Barisan Nasional leaders have been told to sign a letter of declaration to state their allegiance to the coalition and to support the anti-hopping laws.

A source said all members who are likely to contest for the 15th general elections will be signing the letter in the presence of Umno party leaders.

"The letter is to ensure they support the anti-hopping laws. That's because they can still jump if they are sacked from the party.

"It is to ensure everyone cooperates after the elections and do not purposely go against party rules to be sacked," the source said.

The source also said so far former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin is being considered for the Sungai Buloh seat won by Sivarasa Rasiah in 2018 elections.

"The talks are on-going. Those in discussion feel KJ is a brand. He can go anywhere and can stiill win because he is well-known. Speaks well and can win.

"We know Sungai Buloh was a PKR stronghold but it doesn't seem like one now," he said, adding that the list is likely to be finalised by Nov 2.

Former Ulu Selangor MP Datuk P Kamalanathan is likely to contest in Port Dickson against PKR's Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun.

Aminuddin replaces PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim whi will be contesting in Tambun.
