Instagram down worldwide

SHAH ALAM - Monday night chaos for Instagram lovers worldwide as many if not all have been locked out of their accounts for the past one hour or so.

Users received a message stating that “we suspended your account on October 31, 2022” and was asked if they wanted to retrieve and appeal the the account back.

The platform confirmed the issue on Twitter @InstagramComms, stating that they were aware that users were having issues accessing their Instagram account.

“We’re aware that some of you are having issues accessing your Instagram account. We’re looking into it and apologise for the inconvenience,” it said.

The hashtag #instagramdown is now tending worldwide on twitter.

It was reported that the issue seemed to be concentrated among iPhone users, with some claiming that their app had already been crashing earlier in the day.

According to DownDetector, the problems started at around 13:08 GMT and were affecting users globally.

The Daily Mail reported that users were also claiming that they were losing followers, most likely due to suspended users being removed from the follower count.

However, user @gl0diva summed things up for many when she tweeted: “Instagram trying to give us a little scare for Halloween haha. Ok fun’s over. Give my account back #instagramdown”.
