GE15: PN to contest 169 parliament seats, 116 state assembly seats

KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) today announced that the coalition will contest 169 parliamentary seats in the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) on November 19.

PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the candidates parliamentary seats which comprised of individiduals from Pas, Gerakan, Bersatu and Bersekutu.

“Pas will contest a total of 64 parliamentary seats, Gerakan (20), Bersatu (74) and Bersekutu (11).

“For Pas, some of the candidates will be announced later,” he said.

Leading the candidate list was Muhyiddin himself who would defend his incumbent seat in Pagoh, PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin to defend his incumbent seat in Larut, Datuk Seri Rina Harun would contest in Sepang while Bersatu vice-president Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin would contest in Putrajaya.

Other candidates were Tambun incumbent MP Faizal Azumu, Indera Makhota incumbent MP Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah who would also defend their seats and Dr Afif Bahardin who would contest in Shah Alam.

Faizal said that he was confident that the people would support PN instead of Umno due to the disharmony in the latter party.

“I am very confident of one thing.

“For the election, people will push Umno because of them fighting each other and being selfish that they don’t even care about the members.

“So I believe the people will support PN for this election,” he said.

Apart from the parliamentary seats, Muhyiddin also announced that the party would contest 116 state assembly seats.
