GE15: Tense fight ahead for Hishammuddin, PN, PKR in Sembrong

KLUANG – Former Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein will face Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the 15th General Election (GE15) on Nov 19.

The Sembrong Umno Division Chief would have to reclaim his Parliamentary seat won in GE14 and this time he faced PN candidate Aziz Ismail and PH candidate Hasni Abas.

Aziz was the Sembrong PN Information Chief while Hasni was the Johor Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Managing Secretary.

The three candidates previously attended the Paloh Kluang Municipal Council (MPK), here, on Saturday for the Sembrong Parliament GE15 candidate naming process.

Hishammuddin was the incumbent Kluang Parliamentary seat was accompanied by proposer R Vidyanathan who was the Kahang Assemblyman and seconder Teoh Yup Kun who was the former Paloh Assemblyman.

Aziz was accompanied by proposer Shamsul A Rahim and seconder Jailani Bies, while Hasni was accompanied by suggester Mazerol Way Ah Lon.

The decision for the candidacy was announced by Kluang Parliament EC returning officer Jamaludin A Hamid.

There were 54,982 voters registered in the Sembrong Parliament in GE15.
