GOMBAK - Perikatan Nasional (PN) is focusing on winning the 15th General Election (GE15) and there is no discussion about forming a coalition government.

PN Election Director Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the 14-day campaign would be used to convince voters.

He said no official discussions had been made to join any party to form the government for the time being.

"Our focus is to win in every areas that PN represents, and we use this space (campaign period) to convince the people.

"We explain to them the policies brought by PN are pro-business, will create jobs and can guarantee the welfare of the people," he said when met at a programme in Kampung Kemensah on Saturday.

He said this while commenting on the statement by Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who expressed his readiness to cooperate with any coalition of parties should BN fail to get a simple majority, as reported by an English newspaper on Friday.

According to the report, Zahid, who would defend Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat, was ready to do whatever required as long as he could form a politically stable federal government.

At the programme, Azmin asked the people to give Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and PN a chance to govern the country.

He said Muhyiddin resigned as Prime Minister on Aug 16 2021, because there were 15 Umno parliament members who withdrew their support for his leadership.

"Muhyiddin resigned not because of failure but because of 15 Umno parliament members who supported the kleptocrat and withdrew support for the PM.

"Although Muhyiddin still has the support of 100 votes, he no longer wants to cooperate with the kleptocrats and conspire with the corrupt. That is his principle," he said.
