KUALA LUMPUR - Pakatan Harapan (PH) Batu Parliament Candidate Prabakaran Parameswaran vows to ensure the country is free from corrupt practices.

As a youth, he said he saw corruption as damaging the country and added to the misery faced by the people.

"When the cost-of-living rises, corruption would also rise, this matter is all related.

“As a youth and a Sentul native I suggest we reject corruption completely.

"If we win, I will try to ensure the country is free from corruption, I can try," he said to Sinar Harian on Monday.

When asked about his manifesto for the Batu Parliament residents, he explained a few main issues that would be brought up in the 15th General Election (GE15).

"My first manifesto was to fight for the fate of multiple races, I will focus on programmes that raise racial unity.

"The second is the rebuilding issue. In Batu Parliament there were many low-cost flats over 40 years old with the size of around 500 square feet.

"Today, homes should no longer be of this sizes. If I win, the rebuilding would be simpler and I want to make a minimum of 1,000 square feet for each home and have three bedrooms and two toilets," he explained.

The third manifesto that Prabakaran would bring was the issue of transportation.

He said there were many from the B40 group without the access to public transport which made it complicated for the groups to travel.

"In 2019, I made the initiative of a new policy in the Federal Territory where with the aid of the PH government, we had provided free buses to areas with a lot of B40, for example, from Ipoh to the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC).

"If chosen again. I will perform the same for Jinjang and Kepong," he stated.

The fourth manifesto was on the issue of payment delays in the People's Housing Programme (PPR) faced by the poor in the cities.

He said the issue would be solved through a few means such as discounts for certain times and the repeal of the delay.

"If they were evicted, where will they go? This is a major problem for the B40 in the Federal Territory," he said.
