Warm reception among Chinese, Indians in Simpang Renggam a positive sign for BN - Hasni

He said this was a positive early sign and was confident it would translate into votes on Nov 19.
"As a representative of the people in Simpang Renggam, I should be representing the various races here and it is not a problem, because I have plans for them.
"They also welcomed me during my walkabouts in the town of Simpang Renggam as well in Pekan Layang-Layang," he told reporters here, today.
Hasni, who is also former Johor menteri besar, was commenting on the sentiments of the Chinese and Indians in the constituency.
Earlier, he participated in a dialogue session with non-governmental organisations at the Wak Kayun eatery in Kampung Sahari, Simpang Renggam.
When asked to comment on the invitation by Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) candidate for the seat - Dr Maszlee Malik - to hold a debate on the people's issues during the 15th General Election (GE15) campaigning period, Hasni said he preferred to take the dialogue approach.
He said holding dialogue sessions with the people, including village folk, would bring him closer to them and enable him to better understand their sentiments and problems.
"What is the point of two people debating? It is better for us to understand what the people want," he said
The Simpang Renggam parliamentary constituency has 59,053 voters. - BERNAMA
