KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) former Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil tells Barisan Nasional (BN) former Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin to declare his assets first before pointing fingers at others.

Fahmi said before Khairy said anything about other parties who failed to declare assets, the caretaker Health Minister should declare his assets first and he had no right to talk about anybody else if he had not done it himself.

“For me, we want to show we have nothing to hide so don’t ask about other parties, ask yourself,” he said during his campaign at PPR Pantai Ria, here.

PKR had required all candidates to declare their assets to instill public confidence in both election officials and institutions they serve should the candidate come into office.

Previously, Khairy had said that Pakatan Harapan (PH) was not united as its component party DAP had made no declaration for its candidates.

Khairy also said that BN candidates would declare their assets when they were appointed as Cabinet members, in line with the party’s practice whereby the declaration of assets will be made after the government is formed.

Meanwhile, Fahmi also commented on postponing the 15th General Election (GE15) due to the floods happening at several places recently.

He said that since the beginning, the Election Commission (EC) must explain the proper procedure in case of a flood.

Fahmi said before this a Kuala Lumpur City Hall premises was flooded too, so they knew the risk but they still chose to proceed with their choice.

“For me, it is a dangerous choice, unless it was done by design which I hope not.

Fahmi is contesting against former national footballer Datuk Ramlan Shahean @ Askolani (BN-Umno), Fauzi Abu Bakar (PN-Pas), and Noor Asmah Mohd Razali (GTA-Pejuang) for the Lembah Pantai seat.
