Covid-19: 2,881 new cases, nine fatalities in the past 24 hours

SHAH ALAM - Malaysia records 2,881 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday with one imported case.

The Health Ministry in its KKMNOW portal recorded nine new deaths due to Covid-19 and three cases were outside of hospital facilities or brought-in-dead (BID).

This brought the death total in the country to 36,546 cases.

Currently, there were 31,209 active cases with 29,345 or 94 per cent undergoing home quarantine with 1,780 patients placed in hospitals.

A total of 84 patients were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) and 62 patients from the total required ventilator support.

The recoveries recorded on Saturday were, 4,730 cases making the total recoveries to 4,787,828 cases.
