PETALING JAYA - Barisan Nasional (BN) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates are disassociating themselves from Kedah Menteri Besar (MB)'s sexist remarks about women.

To recap, Kedah MB Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor had recently made a derogatory statement doubting the competence of female politicians.

Since then, several BN and PN candidates have disagreed with his stance regarding women’s adaptability for the MP position.

BN Damansara candidate, Tan Gim Tuan, stated that Sanusi's remark was false.

“My mother and my sister run the house, they are the best people, very well managers and very well leaders so women have no issues (as leaders),” Tan said during the Meet The Candidates session organised by MyPJ.

Lim Si Ching, PN Damansara candidate, concurred with Tan that Sanusi's statement is highly damaging.

“It is nonsense to me because using this kind of example is very sexist,” Lim stated.

“If they need that much time to prepare, then go ahead, but if they solve the problems within three minutes rather than three hours, who is better?
