ALOR SETAR - Pakatan Harapan (PH) MPs are reminded not to be lazy to attend the Dewan Rakyat sitting after winning the polls.

PH Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the parliament is a place for elected representatives to study the laws and raise local issues including the hardships of the people's lives and discuss the country's economy.

"PH candidate in the Alor Setar seat, Simon Ooi Tze Min Simon, please remember that if you do not attend (Parliament) after winning, I throw you out.

"But I believe you are a hardworking and capable young man, able to be a good MP. That's why you are nominated," he said when speaking at the Hope 'From Alor Setar to Putrajaya' at the Taman Sri Impian Operation Room, Mergong, here, tonight.

Anwar also criticised PAS President, Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang poor presence at parliament who had said his low attendance at Parliament will not affect the people's support for him.

The Marang incumbent had said MPs attendance at the Dewan Rakyat Session should not be equated with coming to school because it is different in terms of the system and the travel.

Anwar also said Pas is often spreading slander against him.

"All sorts of slander against me, good people don't say that. So much so there was a (Pas) leader that saidPH or Barisan Nasional (BN) voters will go to hell.

"Not smart (to say that). Hopefully the people are aware," Anwar added.

Anwar further said party hoppers who caused an elected government fall in 2020 are traitors.

"The incumbents of the Lunas Parliament, Gombak, Ranau treacherously colluded with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin while they won the general election on the PH (PKR) ticket. In the olden days in the Malay culture, the treacherous have no place in society.

"The message I want to convey is do not betray the trust, do not betray the struggle or disobey the King. Reject all these traitors and choose PH," he said.

Anwar also hopes that the country's economy will recover soon to help boost people's lives especially after PH takes over Putrajaya.

"Right now, the economy is down, jobs are lacking, the ringgit is falling, if I was the Prime Minister, I won’t take the salary because I'm ashamed to take it, a lot of people don't have a job.

"If the salary is RM80,000 per month, it is not right to take it unless the people live happily.

"So, the number of ministers needs to be reduced including their salaries, because the economy hasn't recovered," he said.
