KANGAR - The potholes and narrow road issues that have been plaguing Taman Kuala Perlis resident for the last decade has been finally solved by independent candidate Datuk Azahar Ahmad within 24 hours.

Azahar who was contesting for the Kuala Perlis state seat said that he had acted on a request from the local residents to improve the roads in the area.

"While campaigning in Taman Kuala Perlis, I was told that the roads entering the area were filled with potholes and were narrow. They had applied for the roads to be expanded for the last 10 years, but it was never fulfilled.

"The reasons given were attributed to electric cables and the fact that the roads are bordering private land. I ordered my workers to perform road repairs as soon as I heard about this.

"This is my field of work, so I already have the machinery to perform road repairs. I have also met with the Kangar Municipal Council (MPK) to ask them to pave the roads," he said to Sinar Harian on Thursday.

Azahar decided to contest on an independent ticket by using a key as his logo after his name was not listed as a Barisan Nasional candidate in the 15th General Election (GE15).

His main focus in GE15 is to improve the infrastructure in the Kuala Perlis area.
