SHAH ALAM - Police will take action against those who cause provocation and disrupt the voting process of the 15th General Election (GE15) today.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said the public was advised to obey the instructions given by the authorities to ensure the voting process runs smoothly.

"As we all know, today, Nov 19, all Malaysians will fulfil their responsibilities as voters.

"The public is advised to continue to be matured and respectful of each other and avoid doing any act or provocation that could trigger an unwanted incident because it could disrupt security and public order," he said in a statement on Saturday.

He said the police would not hesitate to take action against any party that tried to create chaos to disrupt the GE15 process.

He said those who were found to have committed an offense would be dealt with according to the provisions of the law that have been set.

He added that as of Friday (Nov 18), the Selangor Police Contingent had received 354 police reports with 27 investigation papers opened and six arrests since the nomination day on Nov 5.

"During that period as well, the total number of permitted campaigns and talks that have been held were 3,573," he said.
